Hi, I'm Alana.

 

I was born in New Jersey, raised in Hawaii, and then again in Oregon during my college years and beyond. I studied journalism at Pacific University, after which I took a semester to study at the SALT Institute of Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine (which has since been absorbed by MECA). It was there that I was finally able to nurture my love for photographic documentary storytelling. Capturing moments that would otherwise go unnoticed is a source of pride.
